That's all.
Can you write a short article about your experiences in the last 30 days that we can post on the State Capture Network substack?
Since Donald Trump came to power he and his allies have put this country through unprecedented historical disruptions: elimination of agencies and programs, firings of employees and freezing of contracts, seizure of payments systems, by billionaires with no statutory authority, and so much more it's hard to know what to list.
There are a lot of articles in the media, on substack and elsewhere by journalists and pundits that talk about the big picture, with quotes from the people affected. Those are really important. But we need to share our experiences directly. We need to read what others have experiences. Reading, writing and sharing will enable us to process what we've gone through, as individuals, as a community, as a nation, and around the world
Unlike some organizations (cough cough... the Democratic Party) this ask is not for financial contributions. Just intellectual and emotional ones.
We're all looking for ways to respond, for things that we can do. Trust us that getting the experiences and ideas down on paper is the first step towards that. Sharing our experiences, ideas, lessons and insights will clear our heads and our hearts. It is the necessary foundation for planning, organizing and resisting.
It doesn't have to be much. 500-1000 words. Your perspective. First person. Maybe you can connect it to experiences from a career in international development or government service. You've seen this play out elsewhere. But this has affected everyone and everyone has a story that they can tell. You don't even need to open a new document: just write it in an email to statecapturenetwork@protonmail.com or the button below.
It does have to be fast. Don't hesitate. Put your words and ideas down on paper or on the screen. Be as specific as possible but don't include your name or any identifying details. It will take you an hour or so at the most. It's anonymous so if you hate it later no-one will ever know it was you. Afterwards you will feel much better than if you spent another hour on Signal, Facebook or social media.
Finally, thank you for subscribing. We started this thing last week without a clear plan for what it was supposed to be. Honestly, we don’t really know what we’re doing. But it's kind of working. It has more than 800 subscribers. Posts have been used by journalists and helped plaintiffs in lawsuits to stop the coup. We have a crew of [anonymous] individuals working together to make it possible. If you still have a job or can afford $75/year or $7.50/month, a paid subscription is appreciated. As we said in the Marco Rubio Countdown Contest (ENTER NOW!), we will be here longer than he will.
Thank you and please write soon.
